“Vietnamese ENT Expert Shares Key Insights at the 3rd China Endoscopic Ear Surgery Conference”

April 18 to 20，The 3rd China Endoscopic Ear Surgery Conference was held in Tianjin, organized by the National Clinical Research Center for Otolaryngology and other institutions.

Professor Doan Thi Hong Hoa, Deputy Head of the ENT Department at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam National University (VNU), was invited by Nanos Medical (Shanghai) Limited and Professor Liao Hua, Director of Otology of at People's Hospital of Wuhan University (Hubei Provincial People's Hospital) to share a report titled “Surgical Strategy for Cholesteatoma: Selecting of Endoscopic OR Combined Endoscopic Microsurgery”. In presentation, Professor Doan Thi Hong Hoa provided a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of ear endoscopic surgery in Vietnam. Her speech not only showcased the country’s recent advancements in this specialized field but also laid the groundwork for deeper academic exchange and collaboration between Vietnam and China.

With over 30 years of clinical and academic experience, Professor Doan Thi Hong Hoa is a senior physician and educator specializing in ENT. Her expertise encompasses a wide range of complex ENT examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures, including cholesteatoma surgery, middle ear reconstruction, and temporal bone tumor removal. She has held several key leadership roles, most notably her current position as Deputy Head of the ENT Department at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, VNU. In addition, she also serves as a Senior Lecturer for the Vietnam Audiology Association, where she has been training and transferring main techniques, and conducting hands-on training programs across Vietnam.

She is also an active member of the Vietnam Otolaryngology Association, maintaining close collaborations with leading universities and national hospital systems across the country. Moreover, Professor Doan Thi Hong Hoa is a prolific researcher, with more than 70 scientific publications in both domestic and international journals, primarily focused on ear pathology and surgical innovations.
